Lazio have signing prodigious Brazilian talent Hernanes from giants Sao Paolo under the noses of Lyon, Milan, and Palermo amongst other ambitious sides. Hernanes was hot property last summer when a move to Milan or Barcelona seemed on the cards but Lazio prevailed instead this summer to finally add a creative talent to their midfield, an element that was so desperately missing last season. It does seem rather strange from an objective viewpoint that Hernanes has found his way to a side that finished 12th in Serie A last season especially given that he was ranked number one last summer in a report on the worlds best up and coming players ahead of Marek Hamsik, Karim Benzema, David Silva, Claudio Marchisio and Mario Balotelli amongst others. But that is exactly what has happened. Now we shall see whether all the hype was justified or not as the transfer market begins to heat up now into the late summer months.
