Calcio Mercato: Cruz set for Roma, Napoli or Lazio?

Roma may be looking to Julio Cruz to solve their striking problem this summer. The Roman club have been in search of a hitman partly due to the retirement of Montella and also to add depth to the front line, which in the past year has been heavily reliant on Mirko Vucinic and Francesco Totti, when fit. Cruz could fit in well in the Roma system, and perhaps could help them be the dark horse in the Scudetto bid. Indeed, a midfield that contains Pizzaro, De Rossi and Aquilani as well as promising french player Menez was often let down by the lack of a pure goal scorer in the last season. Alternatively Goal.com has reported that Roma may be looking to Torino's Rolando Bianchi. Bianchi enjoyed a very solid end to the season demonstrating a very good all round game in which he netted goals from both inside and outside of the box, some quite spectacular. Bianchi has also been linked to Fiorentina.

However, Napoli and Lazio still remain in the mix to sign the Argentine. Napoli may see Cruz as the final part of their forward line as he would fit in between the highly talented and extremely technical players in Quagliarella and Lavezzi. Lazio also remain a possible destination for Cruz, but the ongoing saga with Goran Pandev appears to be wrecking their transfer campaign as until a decision is made as to whether he is staying or going Lazio would appear to be in limbo. Indeed, Lazio have additionally be linked to Bulgarian and Manchester City player Valeri Boijinov. The former Juventus and Lecce man has proven himself as an extremely gifted talent when fit, but he seems injury prone and would be a gamble for the Aquilotti.
