Calcio Mercato: And so it begins.........

Didn't take long did it. Christmas dinner still within the memory and already transfer moves have been announced by Serie A clubs. Genoa, hyperactive in the summer market, have announced the arrival of David Suazo on loan, the former Inter, Benfica and Cagliari hitman. In turn this has lead to the departure of Sergio Floccari to Lazio on loan with a reported right to redeem the loan for 10 million in the summer. The former Atalanta man hit the back of the net 12 times last season for the Bergamo based side yet failed to lock down a regular starting place in the Genoa line up. He scored three times in six games, but could not find his way into Gasperini's plans what with Sculli, Crespo, Jankovic, Palladino and Rodrigo Palacio finding themselves ahead in the pecking order.

In this striker merry go round it looks like free agent striker Goran Pandev will now surely move to Inter to provide balance in their forward rotation of Samuel Eto'o, Mario Balotelli and Diego Milito. Another signing set to be announced in January's early days is the transfer of Luca Toni to AS Roma from Bayern Munich. The Italian forward has been out of favour under Luis Van Gaal and the deal looks all but done.
